Jason Scott, dubbed by the Vegas media as mentalist to the stars, died unexpectedly July 15 at his Summerlin, Nev., home. He was 33. Cause was still being investigated.

Scott had been performing for the last two years at the Playboy Club at the Palms Las Vegas following a six-year engagement at the House of Blues Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.

He earned a reputation for performing closeup mind-reading demonstrations and psychic illusions for such stars as Drew Barrymore, Clint Eastwood, Melissa Etheridge, Paris Hilton, David Spade and Kiefer Sutherland. He performed at celebrity birthday bashes for Steven Spielberg, Sting and Boston Celtics co-captain Paul Pierce.

He also toured extensively, performing for such diverse corporate clients as Anheuser-Busch, the Fiesta Bowl and the Texas Bankers Assn.
