Producing trio nab Schrader's 'Light'

Spec script follows CIA agent with Alzheimer's

Producers Nick Wechsler, Steve Schwartz and Paula Mae Schwartz have used their own coin to buy "The Dying of the Light," a spec script written by Paul Schrader.

The producers just teamed on the adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's "The Road" that Dimension Films opens in November. John Hillcoat directed Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron and Robert Duvall.

"Light" is about a CIA agent who's forced to retire because he's begun to suffer the effects of Alzheimer's and finds he's racing the clock when he takes on a final mission.

Schrader most recently directed "Adam Resurrected," a film that will premiere at Telluride and then play at the Toronto Film Festival.
