Alex Pettyfer set to be 'Tormented'

Actor to star in Jon Wright's teen horror pic

LONDON -- Alex Pettyfer ("Stormbreaker") will topline "Tormented," a school-set teen horror about a bullied teen who comes back from the dead to take his revenge.

Pic will be produced by Arvind Ethan David's digital film studio Slingshot and new U.K. shingle Forward Films.

Cast also includes April Pearson, Larissa Wilson, Mary Nighy and Dimitri Loenidas.

Pic is backed by BBC Films and regional screen agency Screen West Midlands, which co-financed Slingshot's slate.

"Tormented" is directed by shorts helmer Jon Wright from a screenplay by Stephen Prentice.

Producers are Ethan David for Slingshot, Forward's Tracy Brimm and Kate Myers along with Cavan Ash.

Pathe Intl. is handling international sales and Pathe Distribution will release in the U.K.
