IATSE taps exec Michael Miller

Post oversees production operations

Newly appointed IATSE prexy Matthew Loeb has made his first exec appointment, tapping union vet Michael Miller to take over his former responsibilities as division director of motion picture and television production.

Miller moves into the post overseeing the IA's production operations in the U.S. and Canada, which Loeb held prior to his election last week as the successor to longtime IATSE chief Thomas Short (Daily Variety, Aug. 1). Miller will be based in Toluca Lake and report to Loeb.

Miller, an IA member since 1990, serves as IA's eighth international veepee and has been a member of IA's general exec board since 2004.

In addition to Miller's appointment, Loeb has tapped IA rep Dan Mahoney for the newly created post of assistant division director of motion picture and television production, based in New York.
