Viasat launching TV1000 in Russia

Movie web will rollout in CIS, Baltic States

STOCKHOLM — Viasat Broadcasting, owned by Scandinavian media giant MTG, is adding movie web TV1000 Action to its portfolio of channels in Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Baltic States this September.

Starting Sept. 1, the channel will be available in Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine.

In the Baltic States and Ukraine, the channel will be launched through Viasat´s own digital satellite platform, while elsewhere it will be available to third party cable operators.

The channel, which provides Hollywood blockbusters and European action movies, will be dubbed in Russian and subtitled in Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian.

TV1000 is the seventh channel to be provided by Viasat in these regions.
