'Mummy' defeats 'Knight' in Hong Kong

"Mummy" earned a whopping HK$17.4 million ($2.23 million) in its four-day opening weekend. The only opener of any size, "Mummy" scored a convincing 64% of Hong Kong's $3.49 million total weekend take. Per venue average from 37 sites was $60,300.
"Batman" dropped 53% to $676,000 and held second place for a still mighty cume of $5.83 million after 18 days.
"Wall-E" in its second frame shed 47% for a second weekend score of $421,000 and an 11-day total of $1.53 million.
Chart registered a quantum shift between the top three and "Red Cliff" in fourth place.
In its fourth week, the Chinese-language battle epic skewered $67,100 at 24 venues, nudging its cume up to $3.03 million. "Kung Fu Panda" in its sixth week managed $40,300 for a cume of $4 million.
"X-Files: I Want to Believe" was the week's biggest faller, with a slide of 87%. It placed sixth in its second week and managed just $25,400 for an 11-day cume of $294,000.
