The pact will kick off with the Oct. 21 release of the first season of Jim Belushi laffer "According to Jim," followed by season one of "Reaper" on Nov. 4. Other ABC Studios titles distributed on disc will include "8 Simple Rules ... for Dating My Teenage Daughter," "Boy Meets World" and "Hope & Faith."
Lionsgate has been active in acquiring distribution rights for homevid product of late. A recent pact with Comcast Entertainment Group, for example, put disc duties for cable series including "Sunset Tan," "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," "Snoop Dogg's Father Hood" and "Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane" in Lionsgate's hands.
The homevideo division also oversees a number of key homegrown Lionsgate TV franchises on disc, including "Weeds" and "Mad Men."
A Disney homevid source said the company's homevideo division is managing a heavy load of more than 40 TV-on-DVD titles, including ABC series "Lost," "Desperate Housewives" and "Ugly Betty," as well as a number of Disney Channel properties.
