Fox bulks up marketing division

Studio adds pair of executives to dept.

Twentieth Century Fox has made a pair of moves to bolster its marketing division. Studio has named Julie Rieger exec VP, marketing planning, and upped Rita Drucker to senior VP, feature film promotions.

Rieger joins Fox from ZenithOptimedia, where she was exec VP, West Coast. In that post, she handled the media planning and buying duties for Fox films and was responsible for integrating the studio's sci-fi thriller "Jumper" into a TV spot for Hewlett Packard, a first for a movie promo.

Drucker has worked at the Century City studio for nine years, most recently as VP. In her new post, she will be responsible for corporate partnerships forged in conjunction with Fox's theatrical releases, particularly tentpoles such as James Cameron's "Avatar" and Baz Luhrmann's "Australia."

"Julie and Rita each bring their unique passion, expertise and experience, but more importantly, they are both highly creative and driven by the desire to break the mold of traditional movie marketing and finding new ways of infiltrating popular culture," said Darryl Cobbin, Fox exec VP of marketing.

Drucker's tenure at Fox began with Fox Family Worldwide, where she handled consumer promotional tie-ins for Fox Kids Network and Fox Family Channel. She was also director of national feature films promotions for Universal Pictures.
