Direct-to-platform production arm Warner Premiere will begin principal photography on Monday in Vancouver on "Scooby-Doo: The Beginning," a prequel to the two live-action theatrical "Scooby-Doo" pics Warner released in 2002 and 2004 that jointly yielded $458 million in global box office revenue.
Brian Levant ("Are We There Yet?") will helm the film, with fraternal writing duo Daniel and Steven Altiere penning the script. Brian Gilbert will produce.
Prequel will focus on the original formation of "Scooby-Doo's" mismatched group of teenage and canine mystery solvers as they seek to expose what's really haunting their high school.
Pic's Cartoon Network release will coincide with a DVD bow by Warner Home Video.
