South Bronx-born Pacino is a board member of the Studio, which was formative in his career.
"Thank you for bestowing your Marcus Aurelius acting award on me," Pacino said. "It is a further indication of the homage to the work of the Actors Studio, and I am very honored to receive it."
Pacino, who is scheduled to hold an onstage conversation about his work, will also be feted by Rome with screenings of films he directed, including "Looking for Richard" and "Chinese Coffee."
However, "Righteous Kill," the Jon Avnet-helmed Robert De Niro/Pacino thriller that was due to unspool in Rome’s official selection, will now not play at the fest.
The fest’s third edition runs Oct. 22-31.
