William Saunders dies at 85
Former exec was head of 20th Century Fox Intl.

Following his military service in the British Army, Saunders joined the London office of Fox Films, served as a director of the MPEA in Nigeria and returned as director of sales for Fox in London.
In 1966 Saunders became a Fox VP in Paris until 1983, when he was transferred to Los Angeles in the studio's international TV department, where he became president six years later. He retired to Monaco in 1992.
In 1993 he was honored by Monaco's Prince Rainier with the Chevalier de l'Ordre de Saint-Charles and spent the rest of his life in Monte Carlo as a member of the International Advisory Board for the annual TV festival.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jacqueline.
