Cast of the teen-centric musical, comprising adolescent thesps, remains to be announced.
Show, with music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown ("Parade"), arrives in Gotham after a world preem at Los Angeles’ Mark Taper Forum in late 2006 and a run at Connecticut’s Goodspeed earlier this year.
Plot centers on a New York high schooler who is uprooted to Indiana after his parents divorce. Book is by Dan Elish, author of the young adult novel "Born Too Short: The Confessions of an Eighth-Grade Basket Case," and Robert Horn ("Dame Edna: Back With a Vengeance").
Helmer Jeremy Sams leads a production team that includes Christopher Gatelli (choreography), David Farley (sets and costumes), Brian MacDevitt (lights) and Jon Weston (sound).
Broadway run is produced by Bob Boyett ("The 39 Steps"), Roger Berlind ("Curtains"), Tim Levy, Stacey Mindich, Ken Davenport, Broadway Across America, Jane Bergere, Carl Moellenberg and Sharon Karmazin, in association with the Araca Group.
"13" begins previews Sept. 16 ahead of an Oct. 5 opening.
