Kevin Hart to host BET's 'View'

Network taps comedian for 'Comic' show

Comedian Kevin Hart has been tapped as the new host of BET's "Comic View" and has also shot a reality pilot for the Viacom-owned cabler.

In addition, Hart has joined the cast of Comedy Central's upcoming "Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire."

Hart joins "Comic View" as the long-running show undergoes a major makeover. Now titled "Comic View: One Mic Stand," the standup series has a new look and focuses on up-and-coming comedians on the same stage that once showcased stars like D.L. Hughley and Cedric the Entertainer.

Also at BET, Hart's pilot -- titled "I Ain't Scared" -- is a reality-based comedy that follows the comedian as he takes on tasks that are stereotypically not popular with African-Americans. First up: Hart participates in rodeo bull-riding.

Hart and 3 Arts' Dave Becky are the exec producers on "Scared," which comes from 3 Arts Entertainment and Super Delicious Prods.

Hart stars in the upcoming Screen Gems feature "Not Easily Broken."
