ProSiebenSat.1 ups Schulz

Exec to head sales, marketing

By ED MEZA

BERLIN -- Pan-European broadcasting group ProSiebenSat.1 has appointed Klaus-Peter Schulz as head of sales and marketing.

Schulz, who becomes a member of the executive board, will be responsible for sales, marketing and research in German-speaking countries and also oversee co-ordination of international sales.

He succeeds Peter Christmann, who left the company at the end of June after the company's poor first-quarter performance triggered a dramatic share price drop of 28% in April.

Schulz was director of sales and services at ProSiebenSat.1's Sat.1 channel from 1996 to 2000 and later became managing director of marketing subsidiary SevenOne Media.

He left to become CEO of media agency OMD Germany from 2001-2006, followed by a two-year stint as CEO of advertising giant BBDO Germany.

Schulz's "in-depth knowledge of the media business and his experience in the customer, media and agency segments are sure to lend the group new momentum," said ProSiebenSat.1 CEO Guillaume de Posch.
