Fox jumps on 'Junkers'

Studio pre-emptively buys Kenan, Glenn pitch

20th Century Fox has pre-emptively bought Gil Kenan and John Glenn's original pitch "Junkers."

Kenan is attached to direct the action adventure film, which is being penned by Glenn. Both will share story credit.

Logline is being kept under wraps.

Kenan, who made his directorial debut with Sony's "Monster House," is currently in postproduction on "The City of Ember" for Walden Media, said he hopes to make "Junkers his next helming outing.

"It's something that occurred to me over the course of several days, and I just started drawing," said Kenan, who is known for his detailed storyboarding.

Mark Gordon will produce "Junkers."

Glenn recently wrapped his directorial debut, Mandeville Films' thriller "The Heaven Project," which stars Paul Walker. Glenn's writing credits include the Shia LaBeouf starrer "Eagle Eye," which bows in September. His spec "Lailoken" recently sold to Warner Bros., with Andrew Lazar producing.

ICM, which reps Kenan, Glenn and Gordon, packaged the "Junkers" deal.
