Digital outing for 1977 Lasse Hallstrom pic

Hot on the heels of the boffo U.K. success of the ``Mamma Mia!'' film, a digitally remastered version of Universal Music's 1977 ``Abba - The Movie'' is getting a spin in the U.K.

London-based digital cinema outfit Arts Alliance Media is distributing the 1970s tour film at selected sites on the U.K. Film Council's Digital Screen Network (including 63 Cineworld venues) on Aug. 13.

The pic, directed by Lasse Hallstrom, will also hit 24 digital screens in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Norway. More screenings are likely to be added.

Hallstrom cut his teeth directing Abba musicvids before moving into feature helming.
