The two Constantin staffers will co-manage the group's distrib arm Constantin Film Verleih.
Beginning in October, Koch will serve as the distrib’s marketing and distribution managing director, while Koppert will be in charge of sales.
Koch and Koppert will take over from Constantin CEO Fred Kogel, who temporary assumed responsibility for the group’s distribution activities when Thomas Peter Friedl left the company in January.
As managing directors of Constantin Film Verleih, Koch and Koppert will report directly to Kogel, who is nevertheless set to exit Constantin at year’s end. Replacing Kogel will be Bernhard Burgener, CEO of Constantin parent group Highlight Communications.
Koch, a former exhib manager who ran the Cinemaxx theater in Munich and the Cinedom in Cologne, has served as director of marketing and publicity at Constantin since 1999.
Koppert spent nearly 10 years with Warner Bros. Germany followed by another 10 years as sales director of UIP/Universal Pictures before joining Constantin Film Verleih last year as sales director.
“By appointing Koch and Koppert to their new positions, the management structure of Constantin Film Verleih is now guaranteed for the long term with a team of staff that are respected in the market and have a successful track record," said Kogel.
