Pic tells the real story of press photographer Judy Cronenberg who lead a group of refugee Tibetan children over the Himalayas to safety nine years ago.
In its July session, Bavarian film funder FFF Bayern gave the pic E700,000 ($1.1 million), its largest allocation. A similar amount went to action comedy "Jerry Cotton" by Rat Pack Comedy.
The org distributed $10 million to eight movies and three TV projects and also funded script development.
Pics included helmer Josph Vilsmaier's "Nanga Parbat," about mountaineer Reinhold Messner's attempt on the Himalayan peak, on which his brother died; Julian Roman Proesler's "Die Wand" (The Wall); a bigscreen adaptation of TV scrap yard soap "Die Ludolfs"; Margarethe von Trotta's "Vision" about medieval mystic Hildegard von Bingen; Su Turhan's honor killing drama "Ayla"; and Rainer Matsutani's gang film "Rox!"
