Premiere's brotherly love

'Step Brothers' gets raunchy launch

HOLLYWOOD -- Raunch reached the elusive ne plus ultra of raunchiness Tuesday when "Step Brothers" preemed at the Village and Bruin theaters in Westwood.

Asked to describe the film, producer Judd Apatow said it was "a demented version of 'The Parent Trap.' It's what a Disney movie would be like if Walt liked dick jokes."

Director Adam McKay took a slightly different tack. "It's not mean raunchy," said the helmer. "It's sweet raunchy, if that's possible."

The stylish after-party at a nearby parking lot featured a perf by the '70s band Pablo Cruise, and it was here that Sony's Matt Tolmach described the pic as a "comedy of the manchild. It's the most heart-warming movie in the world that uses the word 'fuck' a lot."
