'Power of 10' offers highest prize

South African quiz show to award $125,000

JOHANNESBURG -- Sony quizzer "Power of 10" will be South African paybox M-Net's first show recorded and broadcast in high definition, with the country's biggest prize purse at 10 million rand ($125,000).

M-Net announced July 14 the show would start broadcasting Aug. 3 in the primetime Sunday slot of 6-7 p.m."Power of 10," in which contestants answer questions about perceptions in South African society based on work conducted by Markinor Research,is being produced for M-Net by Rapid Blue, which also has produced local versions of "The Weakest Link" and "Strictly Come Dancing."
