The event, which runs Nov. 19-23, claims to be the first dedicated to stereoscopic 3-D content and technologies and is backed by a host of Singapore bodies, including the Media Development Authority (MDA). It includes a business forum, film festival, public screenings and a gala red carpet event.
Other speakers include 3Ality Digital CEO Sandy Climan, who exec produced "U2 3D"; Ben Stassen of nWave Pictures, who directed "Fly Me to the Moon"; Charlotte Huggins, who produced "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and "Fly Me to the Moon"; David Puttnam, who is deputy chairman of Blighty pubcaster Channel 4 and MDA's international advisory committee member; filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who is also international advisory committee member of the MDA; and 3D Entertainment's director Jean-Jacques and producer Francois Mantello.
Movies lined up include New Line Cinema and Walden Media's "Journey to the Center of the Earth," starring Brendan Fraser; Belgian animation "Fly Me to the Moon"; Imax Digital 3-D doc "Dolphins and Whales 3D: Tribes of the Ocean"; and concert film "U2 3D."
