Among the content on offer is a promotional clip for "Gegege Kintaro 2," a sequel to the hit 2007 kiddie pic about the adventures of a boy goblin and his spooky pals. It opens wide in Japan on Saturday.
In addition to features, Shochiku plans to upload clips from DVDs and made-for-the-Internet video content. Shochiku-produced toons will also be part of the line-up.
Major Japanese media companies have been reluctant to offer their contents on YouTube. The recent moves by Kadokawa and Shochiku, which started producing pics in 1920, may help break the logjam.
