Laffer concerns a modern-day veterinarian who's recruited by a secret society that watches over the world's mythological creatures.
High-profile comedy is the second Miller has set at Col in the past two weeks, after he and Judd Apatow notched a deal for an untitled comedy that will reteam "Talladega Nights" cohorts Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell as Sherlock Holmes and Watson. Etan Cohen ("Tropic Thunder") is penning that script.
Aside from writing "Mythological Veterinarian," Kurtzman is finalizing the script for his pitch "Sober Buddies," which Universal is developing as a potential star vehicle for Jim Carrey. Scott Stuber and Michael Peyser are producing, with Principal Entertainment's Danny Sherman as exec producer.
