Alcon gets Ian Shorr's 'Substitution'

Kosove, Johnson to produce spec thriller

Alcon Entertainment has acquired "Substitution," a spec script written by Ian Shorr. Alcon will develop the project, which will be distributed by Warner Bros.

Spec focuses on an emotional high school senior who becomes embroiled in a murder plot that is being masterminded by his substitute teacher.

Alcon partners Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson will produce with Charlie Company's Steve Crystal, who hatched the story with Shorr.

Shorr's credits include "Fight Night," "Splinter" and "Trenches."
