James Murdoch to speak in Munich

Exec to attend Medientage

By ED MEZA

James Murdoch, chairman and CEO of News Corp. for Europe and Asia, will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Medientage Muenchen media confab in Munich.

Event, which runs Oct. 29-31, is one of Germany’s highest profile get-togethers for industryites and politicos.

Murdoch’s appearance underscores News Corp.’s growing presence in Germany, where it controls Premiere, the country’s biggest and only nationwide pay TV platform.

Also attending the Medientage and taking part in a media summit with Bavaria state premier Guenther Beckstein are Premiere topper Michael Boernicke, Tele Muenchen Group’s Herbert Kloiber, RTL Germany chief Anke Schaeferkordt, outgoing ProSiebenSat.1 topper Guillaume de Posch and publisher Hubert Burda.
