Lionsgate has confirmed that it is partnering with Vertigo Entertainment and South Korea's CJ Entertainment to co-produce "Korean Wedding," about an American who falls in love with a Korean girl on a trip to that country.

Pic is scripted by Jason Filardi ("Bringing Down the House") and his cousin Ian McConnel, whose real-life experiences in marrying a Korean woman inspired the pic. Helmer and budget are not yet confirmed, but Lionsgate has put up some development coin.

About 80% of the film will be shot in Korea, a source at CJ Entertainment said.

CJ's Kim Joo-sung and Vertigo's Roy Lee and Doug Davidson will produce.�Lionsgate will release in the U.S., while CJ handles Korean distribution. International sales rights are still to be assigned. Aim is for release in the latter half of 2009.
