Scoggins has been in charge of the group since 1998, when he developed Solar, an online repository for all of U's publicity and advertising materials from the more than 5,000 film and TV titles in the NBC Universal library dating back to the silent-film era.
Department, originally created for U's film and homevid marketing arms, has since expanded to provide all of NBC Universal's worldwide business units, including the marketing departments of Focus Features, pay-per-view and international TV distribution, with access to more than 2.6 million assets.
Scoggins supervises a 23-person staff that works with all of Universal's marketing departments, as well as U's archives and collections division.
"Stan's team has greatly enhanced our preservation efforts by digitizing our historically significant photography," said Jeff Pirtle, head of U's archives and collections. "Because of the widespread use of their department, we are able to keep our original assets in proper storage without restricting access to these valuable assets."
Scoggins continues to report to Dan Wolfe, exec VP of worldwide creative operations, who oversees the work of the worldwide creative operations group, which provides creative and post-production marketing services for U's motion pictures group.
