He'll oversee development and production of reality series originating from the cabler's East Coast operations and scripted projects that complement those originating from the West Coast under Maira Suro, MTV's senior VP of series development.
Haynes arrives at MTV from Canada's the Comedy Network and Space (the Great White North's Sci Fi Channel). There, he oversaw series including "Corner Gas," "The Tom Green Show" and "Puppets Who Kill."
"Brent's eye for creative, compelling and imaginative programming is only matched by his unique understanding of the youth audience," said Liz Gately, MTV's senior veep of series development.
