SYDNEY -- After jealously eyeing the number of TV skeins readily available on Stateside iTunes, Oz auds finally have access to a range of downloadable TV content, both local and foreign.

Apple has announced that Down Under's leading free webs ABC, Seven and Nine, as well as Disney, will offer TV downloads such as local rural drama "McLeod's Daughters," Nine's "Sea Patrol," as well U.S. hits "Lost," "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Hills."

Apple is makinga big push Down Under. It will open its first Apple store, an iconic glass and steel affair on par with its international brand stores, on Sydney's George Street at the end of June.

The iPhone is also set to launch at the same time and will be compatible with a range of local networks.

The iTunes deal will also combat illegal downloading in Oz which has flourished without a legal alternative; skeins from iTunes will cost $A2.99 ($2.85) per episode.
