Howard's 'Frost' to premiere in U.K.

Nixon drama based on Peter Morgan's play

'Frost/Nixon' will open the Times BFI London Festival on Oct. 15 before Universal bows the Ron Howard pic in the U.S. on Dec. 5.

Ron Howard's "Frost/Nixon" will world preem as the opener of the Times BFI London Film Festival on Oct. 15.

The bigscreen adaptation of Peter Morgan's play concerns the 1977 encounter between disgraced U.S. prexy Richard Nixon and Brit journo David Frost for a series of interviews that attracted the highest-ever U.S. ratings for a news program.

Frank Langella as Nixon and Michael Sheen as Frost reprise the roles they played on the West End and Broadway. Kevin Bacon, Oliver Platt, Sam Rockwell, Matthew Macfadyen and Toby Jones round out the cast.

Howard and Brian Grazer are producing for Imagine with Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner for Working Title. Universal Pictures is releasing "Frost/Nixon."
