McManus joins the show in time for its 10th season, replacing Diane Neal, who departed the show at the end of last season. The role of ADA has also been filled on "SVU" in the past by Stephanie March.
"We look forward to her working with Neal (Baer), Ted (Kotcheff) and me to create another interesting and memorable character in the 'Law & Order' universe," creator-EP Dick Wolf said.
McManus most recently appeared in a recurring role on "One Tree Hill."
