'Bunny' bounces into production

Pic marks debut for 'Mighty Boosh' director

LONDON — Brit TV helmer Paul King is set to start lensing on his debut feature “Bunny and the Bull” on June 30.

King is best known for his directing duties on cult Brit comedy skein “The Mighty Boosh.”

Edward Hogg (“Brothers of the Head”), Veronica Echegui (“Yo soy la juani”) and “The Mighty Boosh” stars Noel Fielding, Julian Barratt, Simon Farnaby and Richard Ayoade have all boarded the cast.

Pic is described as a “comedy road movie set entirely in a flat.”

Pic is being produced at Warp X, the digital studio arm of U.K.-based banner Warp Films, by producers Mary Burke, Mark Herbert and Robin Gutch.

“Bunny and the Bull” is the fifth feature to come out of Warp X’s production slate with backing from Film4, the U.K. Film Council’s New Cinema Fund, EM Media, Screen Yorkshire and Optimum Releasing. Gallic sales, production and finance entity Wild Bunch are co-financing and handling all intl. sales.

Warp X’s first four features “A Complete History of My Sexual Features,” “Donkey Punch,” “Hush” and “ATP” will all be released this year.
