Gallo was associate counsel of the WGA East from 1989-2003 and participated in negotiations for freelance and staff contracts, supervised internal departments and staff and represented the guild within the industry and at international conferences.
She left in 2003 to join the New York State Nurses Assn. as associate director of the economic and general welfare program.
Gallo won the 2000 Jablow Award for service to the WGA East.
