Cohl has also resigned from the company's board of directors (Daily Variety, June 20).
During his tenure at Live Nation Artists, the division signed wide-ranging pacts with headliners including Jay-Z and Madonna. Company is also closing in on a long-term deal with U2, Live Nation chief Michael Rapino said in announcing Cohl's resignation Friday.
Cohl, a concert biz vet, made his mark during the 1980s promoting Rolling Stones tours, which brought in higher ticket prices and spurred the growth of corporate sponsorship of high-profile music tours.
