Roger Beaumont, marketing manager for the TV division, said closer ties reflected the shift from music programming to more longform content at C4.
"It's something that happens to a lot of music channels, back to MTV," he said.
C4 director Andrew Szusterman becomes director of programming for both channels. He will remain responsible for the day-to-day management of C4 and also become involved in TV3's programming strategy.
Mark Caulton, currently business affairs manager in programming, also becomes associate director of programming for both channels.
Mediaworks recently sealed a new output deal with Fox Television and is pushing to differentiate C4 from new music channels like Alt TV on the dominant digital pay TV platform, Sky TV.
