MGM hops a ride on 'Le Car' spec

Wayne McClammy attached to direct comedy

MGM has gotten onboard "Le Car," snapping up the comedy spec from Wayne McClammy and Will Burke, with McClammy attached to direct, and Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen producing through their Temple Hill shingle.

It's the second directing deal for McClammy, who appeared on Hollywood's radar after directing and co-writing the buzzed-about comedy shorts "I'm F**king Matt Damon" and follow-up "I'm F**king Ben Affleck." Fox tapped him earlier this month to helm its comedy "Cool School."

"Le Car" tells the story of an unconventional group of CIA agents who attempt to stop an evil automobile from detonating a hydrogen bomb at the Lake Placid Winter Olympics.

Godfrey and Bowen are producing "Paper Wings" and "Gears of War" for New Line, "Twilight" for Summit and "Dear John" for Relativity and Screen Gems.

McClammy also serves as director on Comedy Central's "The Sarah Silverman Program," a role he's had since 2007. Burke has acted in CBS' "NCIS" and HBO's "Sex and the City."
