Nick Wechsler brought the project to 2929 and will produce in tandem with Wagner, Cuban and production prexy Marc Butan. Deal is valued at the mid-high six figures, according to an insider.
Story concerns a Depression-era logging magnate and his wife who face off against land conservationists' attempts to turn their land into a national park.
"I was drawn to the dynamic characters and unique setting in Ron's book," Wechsler said.
"We hope we can continue to be a go-to company for formidable filmmakers and esteemed literary projects," Butan said.
Rash's latest collection of short stories, "Chemistry and Other Stories," was a PEN/Faulkner finalist.
