MGM taps Kolsrud for exec VP post

Exec to head theatrical physical production

MGM has tapped veteran exec Dan Kolsrud to the newly created post of exec VP, worldwide theatrical physical production.

The hire's the latest in a series of moves by newly installed film honcho Mary Parent to build up a homegrown slate at the Lion.

Kolsrud joins exec VP of development Cale Boyter and VP of production Becky Sloviter as part of the exec team rebuilding MGM's development, production, distribution and marketing operations.

Most recently, Kolsrud served as executive producer on "Cirque du Freak," starring John C. Reilly, for Universal.

In the past 20 years, Kolsrud has worked on films for New Regency, New Line, Warner Bros., Revolution, Mandalay and Disney.
