"Lanny's extensive political experience will serve as a major asset to our continuing election coverage," FNC senior veep of programming Bill Shine said in a statement.
Davis was a special counsel to President Bill Clinton from 1996-98. In 2005, President George Bush appointed him to a special oversight board that resulted from a recommendation by the 9/11 Commission. He is also in private practice with a D.C. law firm.
"I consider Fox News to be a network that genuinely tries to be balanced, offering political perspectives from all sides, and I look forward to providing political analysis and information to its audience at a time of great and historic national importance," Davis said.
