TV writer Mark Tuttle dies at 73

Wrote, produced 'Beverly Hillbillies'

TV writer Mark Tuttle, who also produced shows such as "The Beverly Hillbillies," died in Los Angeles on June 2. He was 73.

Tuttle started out at Filmways in 1957 and went on to write and co-produce "The Beverly Hillbillies" for six years. He wrote some two hundred television scripts for shows such as the "Hillbillies," "Petticoat Junction," "Three's Company" and "The Facts of Life."

An active WGA and SAG member, he was in charge of TV development at Warner Bros. for five years, and later wrote theatrical screenplays for Sony Pictures, United Artists and Disney's Hollywood Pictures. He also acted in several commercials and network television dramatic shows.

Tuttle was a classic car enthusiast and served as a judge at the Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance for many years.

He is survived by a son, two daughters, seven grandchildren, two half-sisters and a half-brother.
