Show is the first to come out of Endemol's dedicated Dubai-based Middle East office.
"Ton of Cash" was shot across 13 locations in the U.A.E. and Oman over 60 days. Contestants are given $408,000 in the first show, and, over 13 episodes, teams of seven players compete to keep the cash and vote on which contestants stay in the game.
Skein has attracted sponsorship from Nokia and Ford. Endemol produced the format especially for the Middle East.
"We are proud that Abu Dhabi TV is the first channel in the world to be producing and airing 'Ton of Cash,'" said Abu Dhabi TV exec director Karim Sarkis. Abu Dhabi will preem the show in October.
