The original film centered on a high school senior who flunks his French final, prompting his parents to hire a (sexy) French tutor to help him pass a make-up exam. Screenplay for the remake will be adapted by Steven Kriozere, who recently adapted "Howling Mad" for Sony.
Kriozere will also co-produce through his Drink Octopus Prods. banner.
Altman, a former principal at Mindfire Entertainment and publisher of Geek Monthly, recently formed Maltman Entertainment with the aim of producing features based on classic films, TV shows and videogames. Credits include "DOA: Dead or Alive," "House of the Dead" and "Free Enterprise."
