The nod, named for the guild's executive director in the 1980s and '90s, will be presented at the PGA's membership meeting on Monday. Recipients are granted a lifetime membership in the PGA, with all future membership dues waived.
Picker receives the award as he concludes his fourth and final year as PGA chairman for the East region, which has seen membership increase by 400% since 2004 along with an increase in screening and seminar offerings, the creation of the PGA's annual "Night of the Producer" event, the guild's establishment as a presence at the Tribeca Film Festival and the creation of a guaranteed-access group health plan for PGA East members.
