The coming-of-ager, about how a 15-year-old boy is unwittingly drawn to misadventure, is directed by first-timer Andrew Lancaster from a semi-autobiographical screenplay by Brian Carbee.
The pic, which is shooting in Sydney, Australia, is produced by Anthony Anderson for Red Carpet. Anderson previously produced hit Aussie drama “Somersault.”
“Accidents Happen” is made with the financial assistance of Abacus Film Fund, the Film Finance Corporation, the New South Wales Film and Television Office and London-based Bankside Films.
Bankside is handling all international sales and will be showing footage to distribs in Toronto and at AFM.
Hilary Davis and Stephen Kelliher of Bankside have plenty of experience dealing with Aussie producers and talent as they were formerly the U.K.-based sales representatives for Australia's Beyond Films.
