Org handed out gold, silver and bronze medals (with accompanying prizes of $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000, respectively) in various categories.
Gold medals went to "A Day's Work," by Rajeev Dassani of USC (narrative); "As We Forgive," by Laura Waters Hinson of American U. (documentary); "Zoologic," by Nicole Mitchell of California Institute of the Arts (animation); and "Viola: The Traveling Rooms of a Little Giant," by Shih-Ting Hung of USC (alternative).
The $1,000 honorary foreign film prize went to "On the Line," directed by Reto Caffi of the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, Germany. Caffi's pic was selected from a pool of 43 submissions repping schools in 29 countries.
Student filmmakers were honored at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, with helmer Jason Reitman and d.p. Caleb Deschanel among the presenters.
