Village Roadshow, which is distribbing in Australia, estimated "Sex" took in four times the amount of Disney's first day of "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" with about $470,000.
The "Sex" opening is the second best launch this year in Australia after the $2.6 million debut for "I Am Legend."
"Sex" had cumed $51 million overseas through Wednesday, led by $23.5 million in the U.K., $9.9 million in Germany, $7.3 million in France and $4.8 million in Italy. "Sex" also expands into Brazil, Hong Kong and South Korea this weekend.
