A repeat "Bill Engvall" seg from last season is set to air Monday night at 8 on CBS; during the episode, Turner will get a chance to promote the series' upcoming season, which bows June 12 on TBS.
In exchange, Turner will hand promo time over to CBS this fall to run a major campaign around the Eye's new lineup. No money will exchange hands in the deal.
Turner topper Steve Koonin first approached CBS marketing maven George Schweitzer about the quid pro quo. Cabler felt CBS' Monday night laffer sked repped a perfect fit for the antics of Engvall and company.
"For TBS, airing an episode of 'The Bill Engvall Show' on CBS provides an opportunity to introduce the series to a new group of fans and is a great way for people to sample the show," Turner spokeswoman Karen Cassell said.
CBS noted that its Monday night lineup is "beachfront property for a comedy," while Turner offered a "valuable off-net marketing opportunity" for the Eye.
