Screen Media Films has paddled ashore with domestic rights to surf doc "Bustin' Down the Door," narrated by Edward Norton, about the rise of competitive surfing in the '70s and its transformation into a multibillion-dollar industry.

A fave at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, pic chronicles a culture clash in Hawaii's surfing mecca as future world champs Wayne "Rabbit" Bartholomew, Shaun Tomson and Mark Richards raised the bar and lifted surfing from hobby to sport. Talking heads include surf legends Kelly Slater, Ian Cairns and Tom Curren.

Tyro Jeremy Gosch helmed; Monika Gosch, Robert Traill and Tomson produced.

Release will be platformed.
