Banner is putting together its debut slate, which includes two projects based on novels that are potential starring vehicles for Swank:
- "You're Not You," based on Michelle Wildgen's first novel, revolves around a woman suffering from a terminal illness and an aimless young woman who enters her life as a caregiver. Swank and Smith are producing, and Di Novi Pictures ("The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants") is in negotiations to co-produce.
- "Falling Out of Fashion," based on the debut novel by Karen Yampolsky, centers on a woman who leaves a Georgia hippie commune for New York City with dreams of becoming a magazine editor.
Both projects are out to writers.
In 2005, Swank launched the production banner Accomplice Films with Mark Burton and Chad Lowe. The company spawned the William Hurt starrer "Beautiful Ohio."
Alcon recently financed and produced the Swank starrer "P.S. I Love You," which was produced by Smith, a former Alcon production executive.
In addition to "P.S. I Love You," Swank has toplined in two other Alcon films: "Insomnia" and "The Affair of the Necklace." She is shooting Fox Searchlight's "Amelia," which she also is exec producing.
