Lincoln Center welcomes Kon

Retrospective to focus on anime director

Anime director Satoshi Kon is coming to Lincoln Center this month. The “Paprika” helmer will be the subject of a June 27-July 1 Film Society retrospective that includes a bigscreen showing of his television mini “Paranoia Agent,” his theatrical breakout “Perfect Blue,” and “Tokyo Godfathers.”

“Paprika,” “Tokyo Godfathers” and “Millennium Actress” have had limited releases in the U.S., and “Paprika” screened previously at Lincoln Center during the 2006 New York Film Festival. Kon, widely praised for his films’ inventive visuals, will hold a post-screening conversation with Film Society director Richard Pena on June 27.
